The physician consultation

One flat fee for the full pre-travel consultation with an ISTM CTH® certified physician, including your personalised vaccine and malaria plan and any prescriptions you need. Vaccines and medications are billed separately at the prices below.
Travel medicine is not covered by OHIP, but most extended health plans reimburse it — we bill most private insurers directly and provide an itemised receipt.

What insurance covers
Does OHIP cover travel vaccines?
No. OHIP and every other provincial health plan exclude travel vaccines and pre-travel consultations — they are classified as elective travel-related preventive care.
Do extended health benefits cover them?
Usually yes. Most employer group extended health plans (Sun Life, Canada Life, Manulife, Green Shield, Desjardins and others) reimburse travel vaccines, commonly at 80–100% after any deductible.
Receipts and direct billing
We provide an official itemised receipt for every service, formatted for direct submission to your insurer, and we bill most private plans directly where the plan allows it.
Common cost questions
How much does the Yellow Fever vaccine cost?
Roughly $150–$200 for a single dose, which is valid for life under 2016 WHO guidance. The official ICVP certificate is included — there is no separate charge for the yellow card.
How much do malaria pills cost?
Brand Malarone is about $5–$8 per tablet, generic atovaquone-proguanil $2–$4, and doxycycline $0.50–$1. All three are taken daily, so the total tracks your trip length — see malaria prevention for how your physician chooses between them.
