Our commitment

Virtual Travel Clinic is committed to providing an accessible experience for all users, including people with disabilities. We follow the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and strive to meet or exceed Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

Measures we take

  • Semantic HTML, ARIA landmarks, and keyboard-accessible navigation across the site.
  • Responsive design that adapts to screen size, zoom, and orientation.
  • Sufficient colour contrast and clear focus indicators.
  • Descriptive alt text on meaningful images; decorative images marked appropriately.
  • Captions and transcripts for video content where available.
  • Accessibility considered in design reviews and third-party tool selection.

Accommodations

We will make reasonable accommodations for patients with disabilities, including:

  • Accessible formats (large print, plain language, audio) on request.
  • Support persons and service animals welcome.
  • Sign language or language-interpreter consultations by advance arrangement.
  • Flexible appointment times for patients who need longer consultations.

Limitations we are working to fix

Despite our efforts, some content or third-party components may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. We are continuously improving. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please let us know and we will address it promptly.

Multi-year accessibility plan

Our multi-year accessibility plan documents the actions we take to prevent and remove barriers. It is reviewed at least every five years and is available in alternative formats on request.
